Designing for a Design Maestro

We are happy (thrilled, actually) to unveil our latest web design project, the Architron Design Consultants corporate website.

This was a challenging project, particularly from a design perspective. The client, Frank Ling, is an award-winning architect who has an eye for detail like you cannot imagine. Frank also has a vision for his website that is specific and thorough. Every element was critical. The absolutely correct shade of green out of 9 million shades of green. The perfect font set. The right layout to fit all the right content. You can probably tell from their portfolio, that coming up with anything less is not an option. They also provide free consultation so if you are looking to build your dream home or your own Menara, do check them out.

A social project: The Asian International Vocational Center website

Hot on the heels of sponsoring the GEW Malaysia website, we created a website for the Asian International Vocational Center. This is a center for disadvantaged children, to empower them with vocational skills that will see them through their adult life. A project by the Kassim Chin Foundation, this is an effort by the Foundation for global literacy efforts, keeping literacy high by providing basic education to these children.

We were "discovered" by Milliee Kassim from the Kassim Chin Foundation through her friend who liked one of the previous web designs we completed. Which is pretty cool, we think! Karyn and I went to meet her at her office in Petaling Jaya one day and learnt about this foundation, and the wonderful plans she had for the Asian International Vocational Center.

A website was needed, she said, in preparation for the activities surrounding the groundbreaking ceremony for the center and all subsequent activities. The website would contain informative details about the foundation and the center, becoming an official information point for supporters, friends, the press and all interested parties. We were very impressed by the plans for the Asian International Vocational Center, and after some discussions, decided to sponsor the website.

While we may not know enough about poverty to create solutions like Milliee Kassim has, or have enough cash in the vaults to bankroll admirable efforts like hers, we can still play a part using our skills in web design and software technology.

Some projects are just good for the soul.
